Antique Chatelaine Perfume Scent Bottle Cranberry Glass Horn Form Silver Gilt Mounts

This antique chatelaine scent bottle dates circa 1880 and is made of cranberry glass, the body cut all over in a series of deep ridges. The bottle is fitted with silver gilt mounts and the hinged lid has attractive repousse decoration. The bottle retains the clear glass inner stopper. The other end of the bottle has a fitted cap which is joined to the lid by a chain and suspensory ring so that the bottle could be hung from a chain or chatelaine. The chain and ring do not appear to be silver. This fine antique cornucopia or horn shaped scent bottle is offered in very good condition with no chips, cracks or fractures to the glass body or neck. The stopper fits snugly and the lid fits firmly and securely and has no dents, splits or tears. Three is some wear to the gold wash finish in places. The bottle measures 7 cm in width.
