This is an antique chestnut warmer. An English, brass hanging roaster, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800.
Fascinating Georgian warmer with an appealing decorative motif that displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order. Brass presents warm golden hues with minimal tarnishing. Lid adorned with a relief mount of heralding angels. Octagonal form to the warmer, with pierced cooling holes. Pierced fretwork to the handle, with hanging loop inset to handle.
