Description
Exceptional, fine and impressive Chinese Export Silver photograph frame; an addition to our Chinese/Asian silverware collection.
This exceptional antique Chinese silver picture frame has a shaped rectangular form with a rectangular internal window.
The photograph frame is embellished with fine and crisp engraved decoration, depicting a series of Chinese settings and landscapes, including traditional fishing boats and groups of birds towards the upper portion of the frame.
This fine example of antique Chinese silverware is fitted with an impressive boxwood frame back and the original silver strut.
The frame is inset with a removable glass panel, in addition to a photograph in keeping with the period of the piece.
The hallmarks struck to the reverse of this fine frame include:

This Chinese silver picture frame is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The engraved decoration very crisp.
The Chinese hallmarks struck to the reverse of the frame are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique Chinese silverware.
