Antique Church Altar Cross, Funerary Cross

A beautiful antique Gothic style church altar Cross. It is made from wood and lacquered in a rich inky Black, the Cross is a nice rounded shape, the centre point features a glazed recess with a silver plated sunburst surrounding it. It has a silver plated roundel at each point of the cross and the bottom features a silver plated lamb of God carrying a flag, the St George's Cross. It has a turned stepped base and stands raised on strut feet. A very, very attractive antique Cross, a large size with an unusual and stylish gothic design. Unmarked, made in the UK c1910s. Likely used as a funerary Cross for funerals and mourning.
