This is a superb antique cutlery canteen. An English, oak three drawer storage case with silver plated flatware by Walker & Hall of Sheffield, dating to the Edwardian period and later, circa 1910. Of excellent quality, the cabinet and contents present with timeless elegance and exceptional craftsmanship. Delightful Edwardian flatware canteen, ideal for entertaining or collector's display. Beautifully crafted in select oak, showing rich colour and fine grain interest. Features three drawers, lined in cobalt blue felt with individually shaped cutlery divisions. Includes 103 pieces of silver plated cutlery, primarily by Walker & Hall, with additional items by other makers. Elegant unmarked brass shield cartouche to the case lid – ideal for personal engraving. Dressed with quality inset brass handles for comfortable lifting and smooth drawer operation. Replete with a brass-lined inset lock, with the original working key present. Some minor absences to the service, in keeping with age and use.
