This is an antique dressing stool. An English, mahogany and chenille upholstered footstool, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820. Graced with superb colour and a fine, tactile upholstery that displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order. Benefiting from a professional reupholstering and traditionally sprung. Select stocks to the legs show fine grain interest and rich caramel hues. Finished in a vibrant, deep turquoise chenille fabric with silver under layer. As befits the quality of the work, the cushion finished with a double rolled edge. Stout, inviting cushion at a comfortable height of 49.5cm (19.5"). Standing upon a quartet of turned legs, gently tapering to a set of original castors.
