Description
A glorious early 20th century ring, made from 18ct gold with full hallmarks for Birmingham 1911, not long before the outbreak of the First World War. This ring is studded with five graduated demantoid garnets (often referred to as green garnets). Demantoid garnets are highly collectable - they exhibit a really bright lustre and shine beautifully when illuminated from above. Demantoid garnets are brittle gems, and you will notice abraded facet edges on these stones if you look closely - this is entirely expected on a piece of this age. Several of these garnets show 'horsetail inclusions', suggesting they came from the Ural Mountains in Russia. A beautiful ring that needs a new finger to call home! Supplied in our recycled kraft ring box with our gemstone care card. Questions about this piece? Please don't hesitate to message.
