This is an exceptional example of late 19th-century British horology: a substantial 8-day English fusee drop dial wall clock, proudly signed by the renowned makers Geo. Eccles & Son of Liverpool.
The clock is housed in a beautifully crafted, rich mahogany case measuring an impressive 70cm high by 47cm wide. The drop-trunk design features side and bottom access doors to reveal the pendulum, showcasing the gorgeous natural grain and deep patina of the antique mahogany.
The clear, white painted dial features classic black Roman hours and is elegantly framed by a secure brass bezel. Behind the dial sits a premium, heavy brass 8-day single fusee movement—the pinnacle of reliable mechanical timekeeping from this era.
