Antique Figured Walnut Writing Bureau

This is a fantastic antique walnut writing bureau, made in England. This is of superb quality, it is a very useful and beautifully made piece. There are gorgeous light figured walnut grain patterns on the exterior, with contrasting bur walnut grain patterns on the inside and a green leather writing surface. This sits on bracket feet with cross banded edges and herringbone inlaid borders. There is ample work space when opened out, lots of useful storage space in the drawers, and this is still a very compact, space saving design. There are high quality brass handles and escutcheons, the drawers are solid wood lined with fine hand cut dovetailed joints.
