This is an antique footstool. An English, walnut and textile bedroom or lounge stool, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850. Charming Victorian example with great colour and finish, displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Quality walnut frame presents fine grain interest and rich caramel hues. Traditionally stuffed cushion with webbed support to the reverse. Broad cushion finished in a distinctive cherry red crosshatched velour textile. Skilfully finished across the apron with double rolled edge trim. Delightful flowerhead carvings adorn the apron and knees. It stands upon a quartet of squat cabriole legs.
