Description
Stunning, fine and impressive antique French 0.16 carat sapphire and 0.40 carat diamond, 18 carat yellow gold and 22ct gold coin pendant / brooch; part of our antique jewellery and estate jewelry collections. This stunning French numismatic antique pendant has been crafted in 18 ct yellow gold, with a 22ct yellow gold coin. The impressive circular frame is ornamented with an impressive scalloped decorated border accented with twenty-four Dutch cut diamonds, totalling 0.40ct. This scalloped design is further ornamented with an entwining inverted-scalloped border incorporating eight impressive individually collet set square faceted cut sapphires. The anterior face of the 22ct yellow gold French coin, set to the centre of the design, depicts the laureate head portrait of Napoleon I with the elucidating text 'Napoleon Empereur'. The reverse of the coin displays the value of the piece '20 Francs' and year '1813' with a wreath, encompassed with the text 'Empire Francais'. The coin bears the mintmark Bayonne (L) which was in use between 1795-1835. The sapphire necklace is suspended from a contemporary 18ct yellow gold 45.72cm/18' trace chain via an integrated, hinged ring loop attachment. The chain secures with a conventional spring-loaded bolt ring fastening. This versatile pendant is fitted with an integrated hinged pin and clasp to the reverse to allow it to be worn as a brooch if so desired. This pendant is hallmarked to the reverse with the 18ct mark (750) and has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton Xl2 Analyzer) and verified as 18ct and 22ct gold. This impressive pendant is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card. Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone. This impressive French coin pendant necklace is exceptional quality, set with high colour graded diamonds displaying a fine white colour and brilliance. The sapphires display fine colour, brilliance and presence. The impressive coin shows signs of wear, however retains fine definition. The brooch is an exceptional gauge of gold and in excellent condition, with a very clear hallmark to the reverse of the setting. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of antique jewellery/estate jewelry.
