Antique French Carved Double Size Breton Bed Frame Offering for sale this wonderful and rare carved solid oak figural bed sourced recently from Brittany. The bed has an imposing figural headboard with a removable pediment, highly carved figural footboard depicting a countryside scene, decorative spindles and finals, flanked by imposing carved columns. In terms of condition the bed looks amazing, we have cleaned, waxed and polished the bed sympathetically to preserve the beautiful patina. On close inspection you will find light marks, surface scratches and old indentations. We found a very small trace of old wood worm but this has been thoroughly treated again out of caution in the workshop. You won’t be disappointed with this amazing bed it looks fantastic. If your bed base runs flush with the side panels your larger mattress will sit across both side panels. The beds are sold as frames only and you will need a bed base, either a slatted frame or sommier (similar to a divan base) We can arrange for a base to be made to fit the bed exactly.
