A fine quality antique French kingwood writing table, dating from the late 19th century. This elegant piece features beautifully figured kingwood veneers arranged in a striking chevron pattern, richly decorated with finely cast ormolu mounts to the legs, corners, and drawer. The material top shows age-related wear and would benefit from replacement – we can arrange for a new leather top in your choice of colour at additional cost (please enquire for details). The table stands on slender cabriole legs terminating in ormolu sabots and includes a central drawer with an ornate ormolu Bacchus mask escutcheon. This is a versatile piece, ideal for use as a writing table, centre table, or side table, and would suit both a traditional and eclectic interior.
