The serpentine chest carries its original Breccia marble top above two long drawers, framed by sweeping gilt-bronze (ormolu) rococo mounts. Hand-painted Vernis Martin panels depict pastoral scenes to the front and sides, set within kingwood/tulipwood veneers of rich colour and figure—an eye-catching Parisian statement piece.
