This exceptional, fine and impressive antique George III sterling silver biscuit box has an oval shaped form.
The body of the antique silver biscuit box is embellished with chased fluted decoration to the lower portion.
The flared upper rim is encompassed with an applied gadroon decoration accented with leaf decoration.
This antique box retains the original hallmarked push fit cover ornamented with further fluted decoration and surmounted with the original silver topped, painted finial.
The box surmounts the original hallmarked base, with a raised well to the centre and encompassed with further applied decoration, reflecting that of the box.
By virtue of its size this versatile Georgian biscuit box could be used for a multitude of functions.
