Exceptional, fine and impressive antique George III English cast sterling silver mustard pot; an addition to our Georgian silver condiments collection. This exceptional antique Georgian cast sterling silver mustard pot has a compressed circular form. The lower portion of the body is embellished with impressive convex fluted decoration. The upper portion of this fine example of Georgian silverware is ornamented with an impressive leaf decorated protruding border. This mustard pot is fitted with a domed hinged hallmarked cover ornamented with corresponding fluted decoration in a subtle swirl design and surmounted with an impressive cast and applied bud style finial. This exceptional example of antique silverware features an impressive cast silver figural handle, in addition to a leaf decorated thumbpiece to the upper portion of the cover's hinge. The mustard pot opens to reveal the original gilded interior. This exceptional antique Georgian silver mustard pot is supported by a circular pedestal foot ornamented with further fluted decoration, reflecting that to the cover. This exceptional mustard pot is supplied with an associate antique Newcastle sterling silver fiddle pattern spoon, crafted by John Walton. Such mustard pots of this high weight and superior gauge are highly unusual and becoming increasingly difficult to locate; this piece is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire. This antique Georgian silver mustard pot with spoon is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The cast decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the mustard pot and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of silver cruets.
