Description
A wonderful example of a solid sterling silver basting spoon dating from the short reign of George IV. It is clearly hallmarked for London 1827 on the reverse of the finial, and carries the maker's mark for William Chawner. There are light surface abrasions on the spoon which is in otherwise excellent condition. There is an italicised initial, possibly 'P', on the finial.
