Description

A delightful 9ct gold and brass stick pin manufactured and retailed by James Walker Ltd from their Peckham Rye premises in the first decade of the twentieth century. In its original retail box the small heart heart shaped terminal is marked as 9ct to the rear. The heart is beautifully executed and has a faceted stone in the middle, surrounded by orbs of a non-precious material. The quality and size reflects the period and the austerity in South London during that period, consequently the use of brass for the collar is not unusual.
