Antique real amber necklace of graduated, faceted, oval shape beads. Needs to be re stringed , so selling as spare beads or for re stringing. Hand-cut faceted amber in a bright translucent brown honey tone with slight variations in colour. Some of the beads are a little darker and some lighter. The amber has nice glow, with the light reflecting gently from the facets. Probably Victorian Era circa late 19 Century, considering the style and age. I suppose it was lightly thermally treated / or affected during faceting, as Amber still has its transparency.
The largest bead is approx. 16mm x 13mm, the smallest approx. 7mm x 6mm.
Artsubject has clarified that the Antique Graduated Faceted Amber Beads Necklace 26 gr for Spare or re Stringing (LA344340) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being Late 19th Century
Since this is antique amber, there is some natural wear commensurate with age. The condition of the beads is not very good, some is better, but not all good. They have signs from age , and probably were not not treated with care or worn constantly without taking off. The surface of the beads is covered with light cracks from age and some bloom from use. Some beads covered more with this bloom/ like patina . I didn't re stringed the necklace, because somebody might need beads what is in better condition for repair as additional for their necklaces.
