This is an antique grand chest on chest of drawers. An English, walnut and mahogany tallboy, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800. Striking appearance and of superior craftsmanship. Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Dashing flame walnut drawer fronts show fine grain interest. Two-piece frame in select mahogany with deep chestnut hues. Discrete crown accentuated with dentil moulding. Fascinating decorative borders with Chinoiserie and Chippendale overtones. Drawers arranged as 2 over 3 over 3, with graduated drawer heights. Select oak drawer boxes run smoothly. Dressed with circular drop handles over decorated domed backplates. Each full-size drawer replete with mother of pearl faced lock escutcheon — keys absent.
