Description
On offer is this fine antique French Grand Tour souvenir perfume bottle dating circa 1880 measuring 9 cm in height and approx. 5 cm in diameter at the base. This perfume bottle has smooth rounded shaped body and is made of beautiful white opaline glass decorated with gilt painted stars. The shoulders have decorative pierced gilt ormolu mount and the hinged gilt metal lid is set to the top with a miniature eglomise watercolour painting with scenic Parisian view depicting the Arche de Triomphe.
This antique perfume bottle is offered in good condition. There are no chips, cracks or fractures to the glass body, neck of the bottle and clear glass inner stopper. The lid fits firmly and securely and has no dents or dings. The lid painting has good retained colours and no wear. There is some normal light wear to some of the gilt painted stars.
