This is an antique helmet scuttle. An English, brass fireside coal or log bin, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.
Graced with superb colour and appealing form. Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Lovingly patinated brass shows shimmering golden tones. Quality rolled brass handle held stay with attractive quarterfoil mounts. Prominently mounted upon a stepped conical base
