Description
This is an antique helmet scuttle. An English, copper fireside coal or log bucket, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
Hand-beaten, eye-catching and delightfully patinated scuttle. Displays a desirable aged patina throughout. Copper presents amber hues and benefits from not being over-polished. Rolled handle clamped with shaped and bonded keepers. Attractive rear handle over dashing backplate, engraved with 16. Raised upon a tapering cylindrical foot.
This is an attractive antique helmet scuttle, with great colour and patina. Suitable for all fuel types. Delivered lightly polished and ready for the fireside.
