Antique Kurdish Chanteh 0.39m x 0.34m

A lovely antique Chanteh woven by nomadic Kurds circa 1880 with a woven pile front and kilim back. The front features an allover chevron design in pinks and blues. These small vanity bags were woven by the women of the tribe and would have been used to keep valuable items such as jewellery or money. These antique Chantehs have become very hard to find and are highly collectible. Size: 0.39m x 0.34m (1ft 3in x 1ft 1in)
