Antique Lady's Companion Book Form Tooled Leather Sewing Etui / Set c.1880

Offered for your consideration is this highly collectable antique Lady's Companion sewing set dating circa 1880. The case has a book form and measures approx. 9.5 cm in height x 5.5 cm x 2.3 cm and is made of tooled leather with embossed gilt and painted scroll work and floral decoration. The lid lifts off to reveal the fitted leather lined interior which is divided into various compartments and seems to have all of it's sewing implements. There is a folding leather needle case with a packet of needles and coloured thread. mother of pearl handled stiletto and button hook, bone bodkin, metal thimble, bone aide memoire and pencil.
