Antique Mahogany Low Cupboard Sideboard
Antique Victorian low mahogany cupboard base, sideboard or Tv unit (ok, I'm not suggesting they were that prescient when they made it, but it would make a good telly stand..), made around 1900. Two arched panel doors open ing onto a split interior with shelf; the right side has a shaped drawer with galvanised metal sections, for bottles or jars I guess. Originally this was a buffet with turned pillars and an upper shelf but that's been removed at some point. The holes on the top are filled where the pillars have been cut flush (see pics). Condition is quite good; structurally it's sound; some internal beading missing on one door panel and the door is chipped where the lock goes in; the lock and key still work well enough to keep the door shut. Cosmetically there are plenty of marks and scratches etc, especially on the top; generally a nice feel to it though; mahogany looks good with a bit of wear.
