Description
This is a good antique hand painted Majolica table lamp in excellent condition dating from around 1890. The porcelain body of the lamp is beautifully decorated in classic Italian style and hand painted in the majolica palette typical of the period. This is mounted on a cast gilt metal base of rococo styling and has been rewired with modern braided cable in keeping with the style of the original. The lamp is supplied with a new (Graham & Green) pleated cotton shade that suits the design beautifully.
measurements
The lamp is a nice size measuring 60cm high overall. The shade is in 44cm diameter and this measures 20cm in diameter at the base.
