A charming example of mid 19th century embroidery, presented tastefully behind glass. Displaying a desirable aged patina and good order throughout. Embroidery set within an attractive later frame, behind clear glass. The needlepoint sampler featuring multiple styles of alphabet and numbers. Lower half bears a hand stitched poem, entitled Sinners Before God by Jane Taylor. Embroiderer's name given as Mary Cittins, Aged 9, in the year 1854. Dressed to the rear with mounting braid for ease of display. A charming and historically engaging decorative textile.
