Penderyn Antiques are a family run business residing in an old Welsh chapel in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. We source and restore a wide range of furniture, antiques, interiors and collectables. We have no specific style that we adhere to, (if we like it, we’ll buy it!) but we do have a keen interest in early Welsh country furniture and unusual decorative items. At Penderyn Antiques, we express an indebtedness to those nameless joiners who worked with wood so long ago before plastics and the age of automation. For in building furniture with integrity; so that it will last hundreds of years, they have been our mentors. Their work remains a testament to their commitment to their craft and excellence. Wood is the most used of all our natural resources. We have a duty to recycle, reuse, adapt and preserve it. We must use wood to create furniture that has longevity and combat the ‘throwaway’ society…even though it does grow on trees..”

This is an attractive 18th century antique oak side table. The country style side table has a rectangular shaped cleated three oak plank top, with a single fitted drawer to the front, fitted with two brass knobs. The antique side table is raised on four square shaped legs. Overall, a rather charming and rustic example. Item Ref; M-4780

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. General surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches, splits, shrinkage and stains to the top (pictured), further marks and fading to the legs and front (pictured). The antique oak side table remains structurally solid and sound, with the drawer running well. There is evidence of historic woodworm in places, however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. Overall, a good antique table. Our experienced carpenter meticulously inspects, repairs, and restores each item in our collection.
