Antique pocket barometer, Darton and Co

An attractive antique, early 20th century pocket barometer by Darton & Co It has a cream dial with black numerals and text and a blued steel needle. It has a chunky metal case which has been gilt painted and has a short chain length attached. The inner rim of the dial has also been gilt painted. I'm unsure if the barometer is working as the needle has not moved thus far but not checked over a long period, best to assume non working but it is an incredibly decorative piece, great for the science collection. It is shown in the images on a contemporary velvet necklace but could be added to a watch chain or guard chain, it is quite a heavy piece. English make c1900s Approx measurements: 2" width 3" length with bow 0.75" depth Condition: Good used condition overall, later gilt painting to the outer case and dial, gilt paint chipping in areas, assumed non working Any questions or queries please contact us.
