Antique Polychrome Terracotta Goldscheider Bust of a Young Moroccan Man

This very handsome polychrome terracotta bust of a young Moroccan man was produced by Goldscheider, a renowned manufacturer located in Vienna, Austria. This particular piece was done by a French artist named Paul Prunier, and collaborated with the Viennese factory. The man wears a traditional burnous, or cloak with an attached hood. The style is Orientalism, a major 19th Century European art movement that drew inspiration from North Africa and the Middle East.
