Description
This is an antique presentation bowl. An English, silver plate and mahogany ice bucket or punch dish, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910. A grand ceremonial piece of impressive scale and decorative presence.
Distinguished Edwardian trophy bowl with bright appearance and fine proportion. It displays a desirable aged patina, lightly time-worn from gentle use. Excellent reflective brightwork to the silver-plated bowl. Fascia adorned with relief foliate decoration, featuring flowerheads and oak leaves.
Striking lion mask mounts host the elegant drop handles. It stands upon a substantial mahogany plinth with fine grain interest and deep caramel hues. Unmarked, yet exhibiting the quality and presentation associated with Mappin & Webb. Ideal for use as a punch bowl, ice bucket, centrepiece, or award presentation item.
