Antique Qashqai "Peacock" Large Tribal Rug - South West Persia - Late 19th Century

This is a stunning Qashqai large rug (Main Carpet) so named the "peacock" rug by it's former owner. Profusely decorated with an array of fan tailed peacocks in geometric format with nice juxta position colours within each peacock including yellow, green and a sapphire blue amongst others. The dark midnight blue field framed with ivory coloured spandrels and central medallion also filled with peacocks. there are also minor filler ornaments and bold geometric botehs. A stunning example of its type - Handwashed and de-dusted. even fringes and rebound side cords. All over low even pile with a couple of hard to find well done very small scattered reweaves.
