Wonderful late 18th or early 19th century sprigged jug with a lilac background against white applied decorations including serpent head spout running around to its tail shaped handle, a couple of Cipriani drawings inspired scenes around the body, namely ''Virtue directed by Prudence to Honor' and 'Innocence taught by Love and Friendship', a lower ribbed band and, underneath incised the Ridgway mark.
In good antique condition with expected age related wear, surface blemishes, crazing and some splits to applied decorations, faint small hairline crack on glaze beside the spout, all commensurate with its age, no other issues noticed, please refer to detailed photos provided.
Approximately 12cm tall with a maximum diameter of 12cm and, weighs 400g.
