Description
Antique rustic country high chair for a child made in a light hardwood with a rush seat. Turned stretchers and stick back. Shaped arms. Carved headrest. This would look great with a big rag doll on it, or something. See condition.

condition
Condition is fair: structurally there is some movement in the joints; not enough to merit knocking it apart and re-gluing, I don't think, especially as it's unlikely to be used by toddlers, having no safety fixtures etc. It's not falling to bits or anything: I did try sitting on it during a cup of tea but even my slender, svelte hips couldn't get in there. Cosmetically there are lots of marks, old wax and scuffs etc and a split in the head rest, all of which, to my mind, only add to its sense of authenticity. The rush seat is in pretty good nick.
