Description
A mid to late Victorian Scottish gold Maltese Cross pendant with the shapes filled with polished grey granite and a central circular orange polished granite stone.
Tests fine as 15ct gold but looks like 18ct gold.
Period: popular from the 1860s to the 1890s.
As normal with Scottish jewellery of this period there are no hallmarks or makers stamps.

Celtic Heritage has clarified that the Antique Scottish Gold and Granite Maltese Cross Pendant (LA477388) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being C.1880s.
condition
Overall in good condition but there are 2 chips to the granite corners, neither of them are very noticeable, see picture 2, the left side of the topmost grey granite and the left hand piece of granite top corner, the larger chip is 2.5 mm across, and a little dint across the back, picture 5.
