The evergreen Sampson Mordan ‘Hatching Chick Pin-cushion’ is not only a design classic, but also a testament to the man who, as an apprentice to Joseph Bramah, could never have believed his work on patenting the mechanical pencil would blossom into such a massive boom in small silver items being manufactured by silversmiths in workshops across the British Isles and exported across the world.

Condition is good with lovely silver. The chick was bald when we obtained it, but is now dressed in a coat of hand dyed pale-yellow velvet, surrounding the well stuffed cushion.
