Antique Silver Miniature Card Case - Emanuel

This is a wonderful example of a late Victorian/early Edwardian playing card case. The solid sterling silver box is hand hammered all over and is lightly gilded inside. The hallmarks are for Birmingham 1901 with the maker's mark of the highly regarded silversmith Lawrence Emanuel. There are also partial hallmarks on the lid. The hinges are good and the silver is in excellent condition. There are two complete sets of playing cards, with jokers, and they are in surprisingly good condition. They depict Nelson's Victory and Drake's Revenge.
