An attractive antique sterling silver table vesta in the form of a chest. It is a heavy solid piece, slightly raised on four bracket feet with an engine turned design and slightly domed top. Lift top lid, it is gilt lined with an integral fitted striker to the inside of the lid. Fully hallmarked on the inner base for London 1910,makers mark slightly worn but William Hutton and Sons is the mark. It has a smooth concave lip to the inner rim for ease of removing a match. Lion passant and partial makers mark to the base. Condition: Overall very good, some wear to the gilding inside and light rusting on the steel striker, makers mark slightly rubbed.
