Antique Silver Waltham Half Hunter Pocket Watch, 1919

The watch has a seven jewel stem-winding movement, Traveler grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 23,280,144 which dates it back to 1919. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover. The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for Birmingham 1909, with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison, supplier of cases to Waltham UK. The movement and case are not original to each other but this movement would have been housed in a Dennison case, so it is just how it would have been. The front cover has dark blue enamel filled Roman numerals around a central lens. There is a small indentation to the edge of the front, and some fairly gentle unevenness to the back. The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition (a line of white reflection showing in the photo). The signed dial has blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed. The watch comes in a new presentation box.
