Antique Solid Silver Sugar Tongs/nips Harlequin Figural Design - Berthold Muller 1901

We are delighted to offer this amusing and novel example of a Victorian solid silver sugar tong/nips. It was imported by Berthold Muller in Chester 1901. The tongs are formed in the shape of a harlequin with fine figural detailing. The pair functions in a similar manner to scissors whereby the user will 'pinch' some sugar (or cubes nowadays) to use for sweetening tea etc. Whilst the tongs are collectable in their own right for displays, one may additionally wish to use them practically to enjoy a luxurious yet slightly humorous afternoon tea.
