Antique Stained Pine Cupboard with Etched Glass Door Panels
Antique pine three door cabinet with etched and clear glass panes. It’s a break front cupboard, in that the middle part sticks out. The door and side panels are shaped at the top in a vaguely eastern fashion (further than Norwich anyway) and the whole was originally stained and varnished. That finish has become crackle glazed and scuffed and worn, in, to my eye, a marvellous way. It’ll strip back to old pine if you don’t think it’s quite as marvellous. But you’d be wrong :) I think this piece was possibly made in Eastern Europe: it has a certain basic quality to the construction. Could also be country French, maybe for use in a church. Can’t know. There's no key or catch but the doors stay shut (the side ones bolt from inside). The knobs look to be Bakelite and two out of three are probably original. The inside is painted, a little bit marked from use (not too bad), and has two shelves and supports for another. Condition is good structurally, and cosmetically as already described: marvellous or terrible.
133cm excluding rear upstand

This piece would be £50 to London and our courier is there most weeks. If you're within about 30 miles from Hastings it may be cheaper; further afield please ask for a quote. Our man gets to most parts of England at least once a month. Scotland is fine but requires another company who tend to charge £85 upwards.
