Antique Tekke Turkman Carpet Room Size

This is a fine example of a hand woven Tekke Turkman carpet dating from the early 20th century. The carpet is more finely woven than many and has great detail to its design. With five rows of fourteen Tekke gul medallions the carpet has typical design and colour palette with madder red, ivory and black shades. In this instance the red is a rich blood red and the black and ivory look very stylish against it. The pile is low and even and incredibly soft to handle. All in all, a very attractive room sized carpet with a lot of character and style. This measures 341cm by 243cm and is in excellent condition with just a little wear to the fringes.
