Antique Turkish Bergama Village Carpet - Holbein Design

This quincuncial design is one of the most famous of those connected with Western Anatolian rugs. It is a later descendant of the monumental holbein rugs of the 15th Century and earlier. It has a brilliant pistachio green ground against the primarily soft candyfloss pink colour with the ground filled with star rosettes.
