Stunning, fine and impressive antique Victorian 5.95 carat opal and 0.35 carat diamond, platinum and 18 carat yellow gold brooch; part of our diverse antique jewellery collections. This stunning, fine and impressive antique brooch has been crafted in platinum with an 18ct yellow gold setting. The pierced decorated frame is embellished with a feature 5.95ct heart shaped cabochon cut opal, 18ct yellow gold claw set to the centre of the design. The opal is surrounded by thirteen Dutch cut diamonds, individually collet set within an interlacing border. The heart shaped platinum setting is embellished with a Marquess coronet design incorporating ten further collet set Dutch cut diamonds. The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp, crafted in 15 ct white gold. This stunning Victorian opal and diamond brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton Xl2 Analyzer) and verified as platinum, 18 and 15 carat gold.
