Antique Victorian Large Sterling Silver Fruit Knife

Here we have a stunningly beautiful Victorian Solid Sterling Silver Fruit Knife from the mid 1800s. It would be ideal for slicing apples or other fruit. It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present for a birthday or wedding anniversary. It was made by George Unite and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1860. George Unite was a Silversmith, famous for producing high quality silverware. The large fruit knife has a Sterling Silver blade featuring the hallmarks and maker’s mark on one side. The very pretty Mother of Pearl handle has a lovely etched design featuring flowers. The blade folds neatly back into the handle. The back has a lovely pattern to it. The Silver blade is shiny with a little tarnish. The very tip of the blade is missing but this wouldn’t affect its use. The Mother of Pearl is beautifully smooth and has a few very tiny chips to the edge on the back, although these are barely visible to the naked eye. It’s a larger size folding fruit knife, measuring 12.6cm when fully open (5 inches) and 7.8cm when closed (just over 3 inches).
