Description
This lovely Victorian sterling sugar bowl was made by Richard Sibley II and hallmarked in London 1872.
It is in very good condition with no repair or damage and retains its very rich internal gilding. The bowl has been made with a heavy gauge of silver and hallmarks are clearly struck as is the name of the retailer Thomas of New Bond St.
Every part of this Teniers bowl has been decorated. Tavern scenes with a forest background, mythical figures to the handles and the 4 feet are depicted by hatted men.
A fine piece and good example of Teniers.
