The Corinthian capital of each retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit sconce, ornamented with an applied bead decorated border to the rim. The capitals are supported by a classic column, encircled with embossed vertical fluted decoration. The lower portion of each column features a plain circular rounded knop to a swept square base. The surface of the bases are each ornamented with chased decoration, creating a woven effect. Each of these impressive sterling silver candle holders have weighted bases and bear green baize coverings to the undersides. Such Corinthian column examples typically have stepped bases, a pair with swept bases are rare and highly desirable to locate.
