The anterior and posterior surfaces of each handle are enveloped with scrolling leaf ornamentation. The decoration to each handle terminal incorporates a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a lion's gamb surmounted with a hawk. The heel and shoulders of each piece are embellished with further scrolling leaf decoration.
