An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English sterling silver combination chamber candlestick and cigar cutter; an addition to our Victorian silver candlestick/candelabra collection This fine antique Victorian sterling silver chamberstick/candle holder has a trefoil, rounded form. The well is plain and unembellished, encompassed with a plain elevated border. The plain cylindrical column/capital retains the original detachable hallmarked sconce, accented with a plain applied elevated border. The impressive and rare example of Victorian silverware incorporates a cylindrical cigar cutter; this operates with a sprung, push fit catch to the upper portion. The chamberstick is supported by three plain bun style feet. This exceptional candle holder was crafted by John Thomas Heath & John Hartshorne Middleton of Hukin & Heath, subsequently Hukin & Heath Ltd. Full hallmarks struck to the underside, in addition to part hallmarks to the sleeve of the scone and screw fitments to the underside are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
